Weber's Go-Anywhere charcoal grill makes a great companion for camping and tailgate parties. This compact unit has a surprisingly generous grilling area--large enough to fit four medium steaks. You can lock the lid into place with the pivoting legs and carry this lightweight grill around in one hand. Built-in lid hangers allow you to rest the lid on the side of the grill to create an effective barrier against the wind. The triple-nickel-coated steel grate is easy to clean, and the porcelain-enameled steel lid and cooking box are built to last. ....read more

A good buy

Have used it once and am very satisfied. Will use an aluminum foil liner next time. Hopefully it will make up cleaning ashes easier.
Does the job!

I bought this from a local vendor and have used it 3 times. It serves my purposes as a single person grilling outside instead of heating up the house, and there is enough room on the grill for a small dinner party. Assembly instructions were very clear, even for someone who is not good at assembling items and it took me just over half an hour. The last question I had about a gap in the connection between propane tank and grill was answered online, i.e. this is for the air to mix and this is normal and not dangerous. The food tastes pretty good, not like a charcoal grill but then it is fast, convenient and clean (i.e. can’t have everything). If you leave the lid on, it sears brats pretty well; have not tried steaks. For cleaning, I just use a grill brush; instructions recommend disassembling and washing with soap once a year or so. For the cover, I got a Weber Q series cover, as you can tighten cover and tie string around legs to stop from blowing off. All in all, I am very satisfied with the ease of use, ease of cleaning, convenience and taste. The grill feels very sturdily made too.
Great Little Grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
At home we have the Weber Performer Grill (great grill too…) and I have always loved the quality of Weber products so we purchased this one for camping. It works perfectly, you can easily control the heat with the side and top vents. Plus, this cools down quickly when all the vents are closed.
Also, this is made in the USA.
We were in a store and saw this unit next to a China-built ‘competitor’ unit. The other unit was $20 cheaper but it was junk, thin walls, sticky vents, etc.
Usually, you get what you pay for and if you step up and buy a Weber, you won’t be sorry.
Weber Go-Anywhere Grill

This grill is wonderful. It is very convenient and easy to pack up and take with you anywhere. It is also very well vented so that the charcoal heats up quickly and evenly. I have had a portable grill before, but this one is by far the best one out there.
I Love This Grill

This is a great portable grill! Weber quality, easy to take anyway, and of coarse grills great. I’m a Prime Member – highly recommend this – so it was here in 2 days. I love Amazon.

I had a walmart $10 grill before. It was a bit bigger.
This grill is much smaller, but feels much more solidly built. I like both metal grills.
Some of the attachments (legs and screens) are a little clanky, but overall – the whole grill is very solid and easy to use.
Pratically Perfect ! ( 99 / 100 )

Hello,
Other reviewers have done quite a bit of justice how well this unit operates with high heat grilling, conserving charcoal, ease of travel, etc. I want to just add that it works wonderfully for INDIRECT COOKING. I have cooked indirectly on this unit and it is effortless given its rectangular footprint. You have two choices for setup: add coal to one side and food on the other, OR, put coal on both sides and meat in the middle. The lid and vents make it easy to roast / bake just about anything provided it is not too big. A mere 40 pieces of kingsford charcoal burned for well over two hours (with the lid on).
It only loses a small fraction of a point as occasionally, if the lid is on and the fire is hot, the plastic handles become too hot to touch and you will need an oven mitt to comfortably remove the lid.

The grill is every thing advertised. The grill is great for a one or two person meal. Hard to put four rib eye steaks on but was able to do so. Good point is it cooked evenly and is very easy to clean up. I use aluminum foil to line the bottom and with its side vents does not effect the cooking process. When finished and cool I just pull the foil up and give is a quick wipe. It meets my needs and is worth the money.

We purchased this grill for a tailgate and we’ve fallen in love with it! It gets really hot and takes a fraction of the coals that would be required for a larger grill. The fire lasts a long time as well. It’s truly a go anywhere grill and I’m glad we made the investment. You won’t be disappointed.

I was looking for something like the old hibachi I used to use, and this fit the bill. Great size and great price.
Great Grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a small portable grill that was easy to deal with and would cook well, so I originally bought a toolbox grill because I thought it seemed like a good idea. I was extremely disappointed with the toolbox grill’s quality and the way it cooked. I sent it back and decided to go with the weber, which proved to be a much better decision. This grill is very simple, yet it does everything you need it to do. It’s very portable and great to tailgate with, yet it can easily cook 4-8 steaks. It is also very conservative with charcoal, which can be reused again if you snuff it out. If you want to keep the grill clean, I would recommend lining the bottom with aluminum foil, but be sure not to cover up the air holes. You can also use aluminum foil to clean the grates if you just crumple it up and scrape them. I have found this works as well or better than grill brushes, which are expensive and don’t last long anyway. Buy this grill you won’t regret it.

we’re still using our Weber G-A. Bought it when we were dating in the late ’70′s. Got married, had kids, sent them off to college, & this little grill was along for the adventure many times. I’ve usually kept it in the garage or covered porch when not in use so it has held up very well. None of the porcelin finish has come off, the stainless steel vent controls are fine, & the teak handles are OK (tho the lid’s handle is getting a little charred on the underside.) Another reviewer said she puts a layer of heavy duty aluminum foil on the bottom (way down there, under the charcoal grate & ashes); I’ve done this for most of the time we’ve had ours, too, & I think this and mostly storing the grill out of the weather have contributed directly to the very long product life we’ve experienced. It has, however, gone through numerous overnight rainstorms & I think at least one snowstorm – it’s not like the grill is a wimp, it will just last (maybe a LOT) longer if you’re a little nice to it.
This little sucker is HOT! Because the cooking grate isn’t as far above the charcoal grate as in the “full sized” kettle grills, even with just a single layer of burning charcoal, it really cooks hot. I prefer it over the 22″ (Weber) kettle grill for hot direct cooking of hamburgers, steaks, and, more recently, charring peppers that are called for in many Mexican dishes. We’ve done game hens (2 at a time), a whole small chicken (parts are easier on this little grill), fish, shrimp, & a few ribs, but these are trickier (but possible) on this little guy.
Several reviewers like how economical this grill is for its charcoal use. Oh, yeah. With most of my cooking times lasting only 6-10 minutes, there are always bits of charcoal in there that have been lit up 3 & 4 times. (Somewhere along the line I found a piece of expanded metal mesh that I cut to just barely fit down on the original bottom of my charcoal starting chimney. This lets me restart much smaller pieces of charcoal that would fall thru the chimney’s bottom.) The vents either shut down better (or the air volume is so much smaller) that this little G-A grill snuffs out the charcoal much faster than the bigger kettle grill does. Besides saving the charcoal for another use, the unit cools down much faster so you can pack it into the car faster at the end of a picnic or camping trip.
If you’re looking at this unit as a first grill, don’t hesitate. You don’t need a lot of other stuff to start charcoal grilling, either. Some charcoal, a charcoal starting chimney is highly recommended (10-15 minutes to start cooking vs. 1/2 hour at least without a chimney), a real big all metal spoon (got mine at a thrift store) for moving hot charcoal around & closing the hot vents at the end of a cooking session. You can use the pancake turner, tongs, oven mitts, & basting brush from your kitchen drawer. YOU DO NOT NEED A BARBEQUE FORK!!! (EVER!!!) You do need a stiff (stainless steel bristles?) brush – wood handles get along with barbeque heat way better than plastic – I scrub the hot grill immediately after taking the food off – it’s a lot easier than when the grill is cold.
Great small griller
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this small grill. It is perfect when I am cooking for one or two and don’t want to use up a ton of charcoal in my big weber grill. It gives quite a bit of cooking area compared to other mini grills and is deep enough to provide a good fire (some other small grills are so shallow you cannot get a decent fire without burning things up).
I am also very lame at putting things together but this was a snap.
Great buy

I just received this today and fired it up and cooked 4 big chicken thighs to perfection. This is just the perfect size for a single guy or a couple living in a small home or apartment. The assembly was a snap and definitely very portable and I cannot wait to take it on my next camping trip. The air vents on both the base unit and the lid really gets the fire going and they’re all closable for easy extinguishing and saves the charcoal for the next grilling. I was pleasantly surpised how well it performed for its size. I have no hesitation giving this one 5 stars. Regardless of all the fancy brands out there, Weber is an American icon and they know how to make charcoal grills. Did I mention that I’m a new convert from gas grills? I know. Gross, right? Gas grilling. Gimme a break.

have had a half a dozen different grill over the years, read all of the reviews on this grill on amazon. just the 2 of us at home now, so didn’t need a big grill, and never had a weber and needed a small grill.everybody gave this grill great reviews, and i think, i made the right choice it works great, i line the bottom with foil ,which makes for easy cleaning. air holes are on the sides of the top and bottom of the grill.which makes it draft easy to control, and with a weber you do most of the cooking with the lid on, its just a matter of learning to control the heat. was easy to put togather and weber has a web sight to help you with how to and recipes, and will even send you a new recipe every friday. am looking for alot of great cooking except for whole chicken or turkey.
There’s a definite difference.

I’ve only used my new weber charcoal grill twice. First for Rib-eye steaks (2) and then for hamburgers (4) and both tasted much better than my attempts with the same things indoors. The charcoal adds a flavor that just cannot be obtained any other way. I love it. Come on over, I’ll fix you a wiener!
Great portable grill
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Simply and easy to put together. Easy to clean up and store. I use it when I pull my camping trailer. It will not hold a lot of food, but that is not a problem for me.
Love the simple design, but handles were bent……
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
and when I straightened them, the porcelain chipped off on the inside of grill.
It is the perfect size for on the road, or around the house when you don’t want to use your larger grill. Especially when it is mostly my wife and myself that will be using it.
It should still last a couple of years. But just a bit disappointed. I would have given it a five but for the handles/porcelain.

Bought this grill to use in the yard and to take along when camping.
It is designed very well and gets quite hot when 3/4 full with charcoal !
Great little grill-recommend highly
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This little grill worked great. It’s really well designed and has the quality you’d expect of a Weber product. It cooked two pork tenderloins to perfection. Another meal it cooked four 4-5″ burgers. The “legs” when grilling are secured underneath with a clip. Then the legs flip around to secure the lid when transporting. Because it’s a rectangle it’s easy to pack.
back to basics of outdoor cooking
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
In an age of propane gas grills, stainless steel side burners, ceramic egg cookers, it is good to be able to find a modest priced, practical, and basic charcoal grill. A most simple design: a steel container, filled with charcoal, ignited, and ready to slow cook. You can enjoy cooking outdoors without fusing over flaring flames, empty propane tanks, rusting burners,or leaking service lines. Once the coals are white hot,put your food of choice on the steel grill and go back to listening to the ball game, drinking, and escaping the realities of life.Sure you may have concerns regarding charcoal, lighter fluid and carcinogenics, but unless you’re consuming a mamoth’s weight in beef, chicken, pork, and wild game, I’m sure a cardiac-arrest is more in line for your lifestyle, and in that case, you’ll never know what hit you when you suddenly keel-over clutching your chest.(“..look he did’nt even spill his beer..”) This grill is only limited by it’s ability to fend of the process of rust. When you’re done cooking, let it cool off and clean it the next day. The only better solution would be finding an old truck tire rim, trashpicking a refrigerator shelf, and grilling down by the river or on your favorite island beach. I would highly recomend this grill.
Good portable charcoal grill
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
A good charcoal grill for when you need portability. I recently bought a Smokey Joe Silver and cooked side-by-side with my Go-Anywhere, and this grill is definitely more convenient for camping trips and other excursions. Both are good quality, as you’d expect with a Weber, but the Go-Anywhere has a lot more control for vents and packs up better for travel. It also has the prongs so I can hang the hot grill cover off the side, and the Smokey Joe Silver does not. Capacity on this grill is about six burgers, or three to four steaks (depending on size).
For those who say they prefer a cheaper portable grill to the Weber… I did exactly that, and junked the cheap, rusting-out grill after one year in favor of the Weber, which I expect to last for years. Weber is quality that I’m willing to pay more for. My only complaint, as another reviewer noted, is the plastic handles.

awesome little grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Great size, very portable. American made and high quality steel. The Chinese versions of this grill are too thin and won’t last. I would have loved to find this in a local retail store but no one carries it… I had to buy it on amazon. No big deal, it came fast, shipped in a nice carton and certainly works fine. If, however, portability is not a problem I would say the standard round “little smokies” are a better buy, they seem to cook a bit more efficiently.
best little grill ever
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Ingeniously designed, careful unpacking (preserve carton’s integrity)will result in compact storage for ASSEMBLED grill. Clever support structure provides a stable grill, with support legs easily folded back into storage mode. HOWEVER, instructions ought to be revised to insure that the final step — the placing of the bed surface for the charcoal — should emphasize that the grill support for the coals MUST sit on the chrome pegs designed to hold bed surface ABOVE the grill’s floor. (I didn’t do that, and the grilling of 32 hamburgers started out badly, because the bottom grill was ON THE FLOOR of the grill, too far distant from the burgers to cook them. I wound up switching to an electric grill. Once cleaned up, the Weber, legs folded compactly, went back into its carton for shelf storage in the garage. Much superior to the standard leggy version that sits outdoors and rusts, or gets knocked over by the car, badly parked, in the garage.

Excellent product!
You can’t beat a Weber

It is a great addition to the family, but i must say it is quite small and would only recommend it for two people. If you intend to cook more other than burgers and dogs its a little small to feed a group. All in all its a great lil pit and super easy to clean up and travel with.
Easy Grilling
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We took this grill on our annual camping trip. We normally take a propane grill — and thought we’d give this a try as our normal grill takes a lot of space, doesn’t really “grill” things…..The Weber was easy to set up, easy to keep clean, has great air vents that can be adjusted to get coals going, slow the heat down, etc… We were 2 kids and 2 adults — wished it was a little bigger but with a 2 burner propane stove — we were able to cook meals just fine. We’ll use this Weber again next year and skip the Portable Thermos Propane Grill.
Weber 121020 Go-Anywhere Charcoal Grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this grill. In the past, I had the gas version, which I also loved. This charcoal version does not disappoint, either.
One great thing I like is that when I am done cooking, I can close all of the vents and the charcoal will go out and can be re-used again for the next grilling (although, you do need to stack the briquets up again in order to light them, which can get ya’ a bit messy…).
Buyt this grill. It’s very portable and is quality built. Very easy to clean, too.
One note: The first one I received from Amazon had a top vent that I felt was a bit too loose to be able to function properly. Amazon makes it so easy to return and exchange items. They had a new one shipping to me before I even shipped the old one back, pre-paid shipping charges paid for by Amazon, too. Well done, Amazon!

We were so happy with this grill that we purchased a second one! We camp as part of a large group, and when both of these are in use you can grill for a crowd, fast! The grill is easy to clean, and very compact—it fits in the space right behind either of our front car seats. Very charcoal efficient too.
